I am Aimanda Rupesh Nanaiah, an artist based in Maragodu, a quiet village in Coorg (Kodagu), Karnataka, India. I completed my graduation in Applied Art from the Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts (CAVA), Mysore - India (1995–2000).
For me, art is a channel to express inner thoughts—a visual language that allows the viewer to decode emotions, stories, and reflections. The laid-back rhythm of village life, the working-class people around me, and the ever-present beauty of nature deeply inspire my work. I enjoy capturing the subtle perfections in objects and fleeting moments—those often overlooked “intricacies” that many of us miss in our everyday rush.
I work extensively with watercolors, acrylics, oils, mixed media, charcoal, graphite, and ballpoint pens. Many of my works are part of private collections in India and abroad.
I currently practice from my home studio and art residency, “Artizen,” an inspiring space dedicated to creating and sharing art. Every Sunday, Artizen also hosts free art classes for school children, nurturing young talent in the community.
Over the years, I have participated in numerous online and offline exhibitions, as well as various art camps and workshops organized by the Karnataka Lalithakala Academy, (India) and several other organisations.
