Elaine Watters

I’m Elaine Watters, a Dublin-based artist and designer with a passion for exploring the beauty of transformation through abstract watercolour and mixed media. My work is inspired by the ever-changing rhythms of nature... the shifting light, the pull of the tide, and the organic patterns that shape our world. The Irish coastline and landscape are my source of inspiration with its beautiful colours and textures which create an inspiring landscape.

I was born and grew up in Dublin and for over 30 years I have lived very close to The Phoenix Park which is one of Ireland's oldest and most beautiful parks dating back 350 years. It has been a source of inspiration to paint for many years. I loved drawing and art growing up which led me to start painting watercolour in my teens. I loved the unpredictability of this expressive medium.

After a varied career in Pharmaceutical business & marketing, it was during the early pandemic in lockdown that I rekindled my love of painting. I painted every day and eventually with the encouragement of some friends, I held my first solo exhibition in my garden in July 2021. A month later I set up my website and online business. Initially this was a part time business, however in June 2024 I left my permanent job in education and I followed my heart into a full-time art career.

Since starting my business I have had 4 solo exhibitions and numerous joint and group exhibitions including The Cowshed Gallery, Farmleigh in 2025. I have also founded a new en plein air group in Farmleigh during the Summer months.

I continue to create new work and collections, often through commissions with hotels, interior designers and private clients and I am motivated by the desire to grow as an artist and to exhibit and share my work with a wider audience. I am currently following my dream of studying Fine Art and Sculpture on a part time basis.
