About me

Arnheiður Sigurðardóttir (1962) was born in Akranes but has lived in Reykjavík since childhood. Her first art teacher was the artist and composer Sigfús Halldórsson who encouraged her to pursue an art career and to attend courses at the Reykjavík Art School. She graduated from the art studies at the Breiðholt High School in 1983.

Arnheiður has continued to develop her own style of art and to this end has attended courses with foreign artists. She has covered a variety of subject matter and taken courses in painting flowers, animals, people, urban scenes, landscapes and abstract. She appreciates the variety of techniques offered by teachers from different parts of the world. No two masters offer the same advice. But it is the abstract concept which appeals most to Arnheiður, where colour and value are most important.

Partcipated in exhibitions of the Groska Art Society, Icelandic Watercolour Society and Vokudagar.
