Hi, I have been working with watercolor for just over a year. What began as a personal exploration has quickly become a central artistic practice.
I am working full time as a therapist and work within psychiatry, where I have witnessed firsthand how creative processes can foster regulation, connection, and healing both for patients and for myself. Painting has become a space where I enter a state of calm and flow, allowing intuition and presence to guide the process.
My watercolor practice is characterized by restraint transparency, and sensitivity to contrast. I am drawn to motifs that explore duality — light and dark, presence and absence, strength and fragility. Rather than focusing on detailed realism, I work with suggestion and dissolution, allowing negative space and subtle tonal shifts to carry meaning.
The subjects in my work often emerge quietly, shaped as much by what is left unpainted as by what is defined. I am interested in how difference can exist without conflict, and how contrast can create balance, dialogue, and quiet connection.
Watercolor’s unpredictability mirrors the themes I return to: vulnerability, containment, and the beauty found in letting go of control.
