About me
Nilam Roy is a self-taught watercolor and gouache artist and art educator, originally from India, now based in Tournai Belgium. Her practice centers on landscape painting, where she explores mood, atmosphere, and the quiet poetry of everyday nature.
Nilam has been painting landscapes for over four years and actively teaches on Skillshare, inspiring students worldwide to build confidence in their own creative voice. Her most representative works reflect her love for skies, changing seasons, and the sense of belonging found in place.
Travel is an essential part of her creative journey. Plein-air painting in Australia, Iceland, and Belgium—across dramatic coastlines, frozen winter landscapes, and quiet neighborhood scenes—continues to deepen her sensitivity to color, light, and place. These experiences fuel her ongoing exploration of nature and its emotional resonance.
Nilam has been captivated by the magic of watercolor from the beginning and has had the privilege of participating in numerous international exhibitions.
She was honored as a Rising Star among the Top 200 artists at IWM 2026, marking an encouraging milestone in her artistic journey.
