Based in São Paulo (and originally from Pedro II, Piauí), Carlos Paulino is a fine artist and illustrator whose practice explores the versatility of traditional media and digital art. His technical repertoire includes watercolor, gouache, India ink, charcoal, soft pastel, and colored pencil.
As a proponent of en plein air painting, his art draws inspiration from the diverse Brazilian maritime, rural, and urban landscapes. Carlos also has active participation in the Urban Sketchers collective across various Brazilian cities.
In 2025, he created both traditional pen-and-ink and digital illustrations for the literary work “A Maldição do Híbrido” by Yoman Ceifeiro (1st ed., ISBN 978-65-01-66570-2).
With a background in Graphic Design, Carlos Paulino is currently deepening his expertise in the technical and historical aspects of art through a degree in Conservation and Restoration at Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo.
