Yana Lyubarska is a Ukrainian artist living and working in Greece. She works primarily in contemporary figurative painting, using watercolor and oil.
At the core of her artistic practice is the inner world of the individual — memory, perception, emotion, and imagination. She is interested in the multiplicity of perspective: the ability to see a person, an event, or one’s own experience simultaneously from different points of view.
This principle is reflected in layered compositions, shifting perspectives, and fragmented imagery. Through figurative painting and symbolic elements, the artist explores vulnerability and inner strength, transformation, memory, and the search for one’s place.
In her work, Yana combines precision of drawing with the freedom of the painterly medium, leaving room for chance and the natural movement of paint. For her, an artwork should not offer a single interpretation. Instead, it becomes a space for personal dialogue, where the viewer can discover their own associations, memories, and meanings.
