About me
Angelika Lialios is a contemporary and figurative artist with a background in Fine Arts and Design. Her figurative work is inspired by nature and by the rural surroundings of the Greek Mediterranean culture. Angelika has spent many years on the artist island Hydra, an island that grows rich in colors with the arrival of Easter and spring. White asphodils blossom, frequented by green glittering scarabs and all around the fields are covered in a blanket of poppies and yellow marguerites. With her work Angelika aims to bring our attention back to our mystical relation with nature and our past. In the 80s Angelika spent four months travelling India, and fell in love with Indian mogul miniatures. These significantly influenced her ink and watercolour drawings. Angelika's more recent interests also include sculpture, collages and acrylics.
