I am a well-established Edinburgh artist and create evocative watercolours which capture the Scottish landscape using the poetry of dissovling form, ephemeral light and colour.
I have had a strong career including art teaching in prestigious schools and managing education at Edinburgh's leading contemporary art gallery - The Fruitmarket Gallery. I continue to teach freelance for the National Galleries of Scotland as well as running masterclasses in watercolour.
In October 2025 I had a critically acclaimed solo exhibition 'Light within' in the beautiful setting of Dundas Street Gallery and have featured in Graystone Gallery's 2025 - 26 winter exhibtion.
In 2022, I had a well-received solo exhibtion 'There you feel free' at Doubtfire Gallery, Edinburgh with successful sales and was honoured to be part of the cirtically-acclaimed Fabriano en Acquarello Scottish group exhibition at the Union Gallery, Edinburgh in 2022.
My practice begins with 'en plein air' sketching, making immediate responses through brushwork and colour to capture the sensation of the landscape. My studio is based on Edinburgh's most famous Patriothall WASPS studio in the heart of Edinburgh's Stockbridge village.
I was delighted that my paintings were selected for special praise by art critic Vivien Devlin in the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour 143rd Open Annual Exhibition in 2024.
