Lorena Massa

I have been painting since I was a young girl because have always felt the need to express myself through colors and painting. I graduated in "Restoration and conservation of cultural heritage" in 2005, and in 2009 I graduated in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cuneo.

During my journey to the discovery of the various painting techniques, I run into watercolor. The freshness, transparency, and those unique nuances coming from the water astonished me. Watercolor painting welcomes me, and let me play with its colors, the magic of water, and the texture of the paper.

By looking at my paintings you can feel that I am a sensitive and cheerful artist. I’m in love with colors and the hidden simplicity and beauty confined in small things. Humans, animals and flowers enchant me. My eyes gaze the world around me in search of new stimuli.

In 2014, I was very proud to become a member of the prestigious Italian Watercolor Association (Associazione Italiana Acquerelli). Over the years, I have received numerous awards both nationally and internationally, participating in exhibitions and competitions in various countries around the world.

In 2021, I became Leader of the Italian Group of FabrianoInAcquarello, collaborating in the organization of this important international watercolor event. That same year, I was honored to become a Brand Ambassador for Daniel Smith, establishing a fruitful and inspiring collaboration.

For the past 20 years, I have been organizing painting courses, which is a part of my work that I deeply love. In recent years, I have also begun collaborating with international associations, holding online courses. My studio is in Cuneo, a little town on the slopes of the Alps, in the north of the Italy, where nourished by the beauty of the surrounding nature I work on my watercolors.
