About me
Kevin Palacios Arrese is a Peruvian artist, born in "La Perla del Chira", Sullana in 1997. He graduated from the Architecture, Urbanism, and Territory program at the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola in Lima. During his university years, he decided to study visual arts empirically, beginning with realistic pencil portraits and oil landscapes.
Shortly afterward, in 2017, he became interested in urban watercolor painting. His first contact with landscape was an aerial view of Lima, and since then it has become his preferred subject to paint. During the pandemic, inspired by Lima’s deserted and grayish cityscape, he began incorporating darker colors, with black, turquoise, and red becoming the protagonists of his panoramic works. This exploration led him to win the First National Watercolor Prize in Arequipa, Peru, in 2024.
In 2022 and 2023, he traveled to Mexico to represent Peru at international festivals in Toluca and as a guest in Oaxaca. In 2025, he traveled to Europe, his first destination was Bologna (Italy), to exhibit at Fabriano in Acquarello, one of the most prestigious watercolor events in the world. He also participated in watercolor Festivals in Fermo (Italy) and Prague (Czech Republic), where he was awarded first place for his participation in plein air competitions.
He later traveled to Spain, where he was invited by the Catalonia Watercolorists Association to give a master watercolor demonstration. In addition, he conducted workshops in Zaragoza and participated in the International Meeting of Advanced Watercolorists in Toledo.
Currently, Arrese continues his vocation as an educator, actively participating in watercolor festivals and artistic events. He was recently selected to exhibit his work alongside five artists from different parts of the world, representing the Young Talents community at the opening of the Fabriano in Acquarello festival, where he will also give a master demo at the Teatro Arena del Sole, a stage he will share with some of the best watercolorists in the world.
