About me

 Born in Mexico City in 1958, he has lived in Irapuato, Guanajuato since 2010 and in Cádiz Spain since 2023. He studied architecture at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and Fine Arts at the School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving “La Esmeralda” and at the School of Fine Arts at the University of the Americas Puebla and a Master's Degree in Heritage Research at the UIA Puebla and, as part of his master's thesis, he did an academic research stay in the Conservation area of the Reina Sofia National Art Museum in Madrid, Spain. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Art at the University of Guanajuatoin México

 He has been painting with watercolors since 1980, studying with Architect René Capdevielle, Architect Vicente Mendiola and Mtro. Alfredo Guati Rojo and he has participated in workshops with the masters Andy Evansen, Janine Gallizia, Pedro Cano, Marc Folly, Amit Kapoor, Alvaro Castagnet and Prafull Sawant among others.

He won the Tlacuilo trophy in 1988 and 1989 and Honorable Mention in 2025 awarded by the National Museum of Watercolors, and in 1998 the acquisition prize in the Watercolor Color and Paper contest sponsored by SUNCHEMICAL and he is currently a member of the Mexican Society of Watercolorists and the IWS Mexico/San Miguel de Allende. 

His work has been published in the magazine The Art of Watercolor n• 55 edited and published in France and is part of the permanent collections of the National Museum of Watercolor, the Watercolor Museum of the State of Mexico, the Synthesis Newspaper Collection of the City of Puebla and the Walter Anderson Museum of Art in Ocean Springs, Mississippi USA.
