Born in Paris, Yesim Gozukara is a Melbourne-based watercolour artist whose work blends scientific curiosity with a lifelong love of painting. She paints intuitively, without preliminary drawing, using vibrant colour and wet-into-wet techniques to create expressive, texture-rich pieces.
Inspired by natural surfaces—coastal landscapes, moss, lichens, and weathered terrain—her paintings explore pattern and movement, letting the water, pigment, and paper interact in ways that echo the processes of nature itself. A multiple award-winning artist, Yesim has exhibited widely in Australia and internationally, and enjoys sharing her passion through workshops and live demonstrations. She continues to develop her artistic practice from her home studio alongside a full-time career at a leading science research organisation.
