About me
I am Barara Mayers, presently residing in Cape Town, S Africa.
I was born in Harare, Zimbabwe and was educated there.
I went to university in Cape Town S. Africa where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Drama.
Most of my life has been spent teaching those two subjects here and abroad.
I took up watercolour painting about 15 years ago under the auspices of two very prominent teachers in Cape Town. I have loved this versatile medium, and spend many an hour engrossed in its study. i still consider myself a student. And do hope to continue in its exploration and my dedication to its fascinating unpredictability.
My focus is form and colour which I love to experiment with. The fascination of watercolours will always hold and inspire me.
