About me
Hello
I am a visual artist based in Queensland, Australia.
I generally paint with watercolour, inks or acrylics. I find watercolour excellent for capturing the 'spirit' of the subject 'en plein air' or in the studio and it is a great compliment to fountain pen, acrylic inks and acrylic pigment on paper or canvas. My aim is to interpret and depict character of the subject whether landscape, cityscape or figurative - the truth beyond the surface.
I have travelled widely in Australia, Asia, Europe and and other countries to paint remote, rural or urban landscape/cityscape, people and life. I'm very pleased to have received awards for my artwork, particularly in watercolour, and to be included for Australia in FabrianoInAquarello exhibitions. I am a member of a number of art societies in Australia and am very active with the worldwide Urban Sketchers Group. I am an experienced tutor in watercolour painting and ink sketching.
