About me
Thanks to his profession Paul Holzapfel is familiar with many places in Vienna and many other cities.
The INTUITIVE REALISM in his pictures enables the viewer to also glimpse behind the facades of buildings and objects and see what is hidden inside. Paul Holzapfel intuitively turns the photo realism that is immediately apparent in his pictures into art. Driven by the emotions of the moment the creates paintings that while trying to depict real conditions surprise with their spontaneous intuition.
Over the years he has developed his own Airbrush-mixed media which he mainly uses in winter. This extravagant and time-consuming technique requires a constant covering of surfaces, applying the paint in several layers and then also reworking it. In the warmer season he prefers to spend his time outdoors and to enjoy the freedom. It is at this time of the year that he creates his colorfull and playfull watercolors that also reflect his intuitive perception.
