About me

My name is Malena Moreno, and I am a Mexican artist.

My favorite medium is watercolor. I enjoy painting landscapes on plain air, figure, and portraits. Still, I know different technics such as drawing, sanguine, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, oil and acrylic.

During my long career, I have given lectures about arts, in the School of Architecture of the University of the México State. I have taught how to paint different techniques such as Pastel, Drawing, and Watercolor in my studio in Toluca Mexico.

I enjoy teaching to kids and everybody that is interested into arts. As I am a devoted artist and painter.

I have attended several workshops with great masters and friends such as Bernardino Zamudio, Alfredo Guati Rojo, Luis Nishizawa, Demetrio Llordén, Pascual Santillán, Ignacio Barrios, Ana Elena Madrigal, Mónica Palomar.

As well, I have studied at the following School of Arts, Centers and Universities all around the world:

  • Plastic Arts Center “José María Velasco” at the University of the México State in Toluca, México. 
  • Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, Italy, the course of Aquarello en Plain Air, 2002,
  • Engraving in Capileira, Spain 2006.
  • Associate degrees in History of Art, in 2010. Anahuac University Mexico City
  • History of Novo Spanish Painting in Mexico, in 2012 Anahuac University Mexico City
  • Great Masters of the Renaissance and Baroque at the Anahuac University in Mexico City, in 2014.

I am Member of the Mexican Society of Watercolor Painters since 2018, and Founder Member and Former president of the Watercolor Museum Friends Society of the Watercolor Museum based in México State.

I love involving myself into arts competitions and contests, being recognized with Honorable Mention in the Tlaloc Award Competition 2007, Honorabl
