My watercolors have a life of their own. They are characters like those in novels, stories, theater. My characters are places, sites, corners, buildings. The setting is the city of Buenos Aires. Many of them are emblematic, some were demolished (they are the blue ones), others are simple but have something. Everyone calls me through his image. As much as I resist, they are recurrent, until I take care of them they don't stop calling me. I have to paint them. His initial image leads me to another image and another. And the look is more directed, to other points of view and to its history and its author and its changes over time. And so, in this dynamic a love bond is produced that does not stop. And when everything seems understood, the drawing that requires more information begins. And choosing the paper is already a ritual, drawing takes time, preparing the watercolors, the water, the brushes. Until reaching the greatest pleasure that is to slide the brush on the paper, that the water and the pigment do their thing, they are allies, and the gouaches intermingle and new ideas of tones, shadows, of little characters in action arise. It is something magical, fun, pleasant, loving... I was born in the city of Buenos Aires, I am an architect and actor. Since I was very young I like to draw and act. I had never used the brush. The 2020 quarantine allowed me to take care of watercolors, I was taking classes online (Pito Campos, Alex Hillkurtz, Alvaro Castagnet, Gonzalo Cid, demos de youtube, etc) and it's something I can't stop doing. It is wonderful and exciting.
