My name is Svetlana Klishevskaya. I was born in Tula and I still live here.
When I was a child I attended an art school for 5 years.
Then I gave up painting for a while… But I took my watercolour again some years ago! Don’t ask me “Why now?” “Why watercolour?”
Evidently It was God’s will.
Now I draw actively, I’m looking for my own style…
I try to depict everything. But most of all I prefer to draw landscapes. I like an architectural landscape. Today I am much inspired by my native city, especially its streets, churches.
Unfortunately I don’t have any kind of plan of drawing pictures. Sometimes inspiration works, but sometimes I set a deadline for myself.
I always ask myself - What is an artist? Can I qualify myself as an artist?
I think, everyone, who can say something to this world using a piece of paper, a sketchbook or a napkin even with a small sketch on - which is also a piece of art, is a real artist. It doesn’t matter, when and where it was made, but what is really important is the sense, energy and emotions this very sketch brings to us. Artist’s works can not be qualified as ugly, old, or needless. They accompany their artist all his life.
My works are always with me like my close friends! I present them to my relatives, friends and to acquaintances. Of course, there are always dissatisfied persons. Sceptics. Enviers. But this is not the reason why I should give up painting, just because someone doesn’t like what you do. On the contrary it gives me more inspiration to create new art works - it is real happiness! My paintings are my soul!
My watercolour paintings were exhibited in Tula, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Svetlogorsk, Novosibirsk, Perm, Rostov. My works have been exhibited in India, Thailand, Iran, Italy, France, Japan.
