Malaysian artist Yong Li Yun, paints en plein air to explore the interrelation between Chinese ink and watercolour. Li Yun is seeking for the simplicity washed in watercolour and sophisticated layers in Chinese ink practices, and vise versa. She has printed her footsteps all over Malaysia not merely to capture the beautiful phenomenal, but she try to paint different subjects to catalyst her exploration. On the other hand, calligraphy and seal carving are the subjects that Li Yun practices as expertise, and earn a living.
Li Yun is the founder of Sketchwalk Kuala Lumpur, the advisor of Sketchwalk Klang and Sketchwalk Kota Bharu. She also active as the committee of Malaysian Chin ese Ink Association. She is actively exhibits her artworks outside Malaysia, in Beijing, Hainan Island, Tianjin, Tainan, Tokyo, Incheon, Soeul, Fabriano, Munich and etc.
