A Science graduate and MBA Finance by profession, Sunitha Krishna has been passionate about art since childhood, starting with watercolour paintings. At a point when academics was given priority, she took a break from her only passion, painting. Currently residing in Bangalore, India, with her loving and very supportive husband and a wonderful son, Sunitha has quit her job, restarted her journey and now following her passion.
Sunitha experimented with various subjects and drew inspiration from everyday realities as her artistic journey progressed. She loves to observe nature and enjoys the beauty and transformation it goes through in different seasons. She loves to paint the beauty of monsoon, the colourful autumn, the subtle winter and the joy that spring and summer brings in. Apart from landscapes, she loves to give a realistic touch to the interesting still life around.
Learning is a journey that never ends. With the tutelage of few acclaimed mentors and plenty of self-learning through books by eminent artists around the world, Sunitha pursues to learn new techniques in watercolour; a medium that continues to challenge and invigorate her even today.
Apart from watercolour, she tries her hand on alternative mediums like Oil, Acrylic and Pencil Sketches, and continues to consciously create new dialogues and conversations with her art. For Sunitha, Art is nothing but a meditation that soothes and relaxes her mind!
"My passion for painting is coupled with a zeal for perfection, and that’s what drives me to create. I don’t view painting as simply an artistic expression, but a way of life. As I keep creating and progressing in my journey, I am reassured every single day that “the world is but a canvas to our imagination.” How thoughtful and true was Henry David Thoreau!"
