About me
Born in the South of Germany, I studied Rhythmik (music and movement) at the conservatory of Cologne and later music education at the university of arts in Berlin. For years I was involved in theatre projects with children, concerts and workshops in diferent countries. There has always been the strong wish to draw and paint since my childhood, but music and music education filled my life and the art had to wait.
It was in Mexico-City - which is my home since 2005 -, where I discovered the art of watercolor painting and fell in love with it. Since one of my favorite musical expressions is the improvisation, I noticed that I could do the same by painting with watercolor.
In 2014 I started to visit workshops and clases in the museo nacional de la acuarela"Alfredo Guati Rojo" in Mexico-City, with national and international artists. In 2018 I was recieved in the society of mexican watercolorists (SMA) and 2020 in the society of the friends of the museum. I participated in various exibitions in Mexico and abroad and recieved a honorific mention at the national level. Since 2020 I enjoy very much to be an online-student of Tantatinta, a school for drawing and watercolor in Buenos Aires.
Although I would say, that I paint what catches my eye, my heart, my mind, I am particulary fascinated by studying the facial and corporal expression of people. Nature is another subject which touches me deeply in all its apearences and motivates me to transform what I see into a watercolor painting.
