About me
Karen Heidler is an award-winning American watercolorist living in Spring Hill, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Fine Art from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 1994. She is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and the Florida Watercolor Society. Her work is featured in Splash: The Best of Watercolor 19, 21 and 23. She has received international recognition with awards from The National Watercolor Society, Signature American Watermedia International Exhibition, Transparent Watercolor Society, Women in Watercolor International Competition, and The Florida Watercolor Society.
When it comes to painting, Karen’s philosophy is to be in control of the watercolor as she creates highly realistic paintings of her favorite subjects. Watercolor fits her personality: precise, attention to detail, intense focus and follow through. Her paintings reflect who she is and communicates her desire to connect with others while inviting them along for the journey.
