I have always loved art, especially painting, and particularly watercolor. It has always seemed to me a very difficult technique; it is so spontaneous, fresh, transparent, free, capricious, wayward, temperamental, independent… You must be able to establish a patient, long and lasting bond with it, so that it can share its secrets with you and grant you the privilege of allowing you to express what you want. Due to life circumstances and my profession, medicine, I could not dedicate myself to this wonderful art before. When I started painting, I had several courses on techniques and materials used by different artists at different times, including tempera, oil, pastel, and of course, watercolor, which is my favorite. Now that I can dedicate much more time to painting, I enjoy it enormously. Every day I am more and more surprised by how far you can go, how much you can achieve and the daily surprises that the fickle and capricious temperament of this wonderful technique, which is watercolor, offers you. I have the fortune of being a student for about 20 years of a great painter and teacher, Javier Gomez-Soto, who knows perfectly all those secrets and has generously shown me during all these years and continues to do so to this day.
