Watercolour artist Sue Mansill has an impressionistic approach to her work developed from a love of pleine air painting, recording with brush and paint the essence of a place and the people.
"Light, shapes, colour and mood of your scene or subject are constantly changing, the process of recording is stimulating and challenging."
Sue's philosophy on painting can be summed up as....
"First you must find something you want to say something about. Then you must find a way of saying it. The way you say it will be a measure of your originality, creativity, and imagination."
Originally from Sydney, Sue graduated from the Sydney Art Scool Division of Design. Her working life was spent in Advertising, publishing, photography and illustration.
Sue has enjoyed teaching to small private groups of enthusiasts and participating in Urban Sketchers.
Sue will continue as a lifetime student of art.
