About me

Sucharita Maitra's artwork shows beauty and evokes feeling even in the ordinary through the dance of the brush on paper with vibrant colours. She paints with watercolor, acrylic and mixed media to share her inspirations from her travels and everyday experiences. Each painting tells a story and sends the viewer's imagination on a journery to find their own personal story. The viewer's imagination can make the ordinary feel extraordinary through her artistic expression.

Some examples of this vivid style are her recent water colour paintings " Bouquet in Royal Delft Blue" and "Spring In Royal Ming" which were displayed at White Gallery, Visual Arts Mississauga and Toronto Water Colour Society's Aquavision juried shows. These artworks were inspired by her worldwide travels to Delft Museum, Amsterdam and Royal Ontario Museum, Canada. See more of her juried shows at www.suchfineart.com.

Her current Fabriano entry reflects her creative vision to enhance the beauty of rare 11th century Pueblo pottery hand- made by by the Cochiti community in Santa Fe,North America. The clay was a canvas for the Native Americans to express themselves through designs and symbols using vegetable dye to represent the beauty Nature and relationships. A fresh colourful fuschia flower bouquet is placed on the Pueblo pot to create a warm blast of enchantment. (www.SuchFineArt.com)
