Jonatan Castellares Poma is a peruvian artist who was born in 1986 in Huancayo and actually lives in Ayacucho, central Andes. He started painting at the age of 17 and studied watercolour and oil techniques at the School of Fine Arts of Ayacucho.
Inspired by the impressionists, he always paints outdoor to capture the specifity of the changing light in the peruvian Andes. "When I paint, my goal is to catch and represent a glimpse of the light. People don't only get a painting but a volatile moment, a slice of life. The color I use are the tones, the harmonies of the colour of the Peruvian Andes landscapes".
His work was displayed in festivals in Peru and other countries of South America and Europe. He was awarded the 2nd price of the International Festival of Potrer Art of San Luis (Argentina) in 2019 and the honourable mention of the Festival of landscapes painting of Villa Nueva - Cordoba (Argentina) in 2022.
