Kristiina Roots

Kristiina Roots is a watercolor artist based in Tallinn, Estonia, whose work blends expressive observation with the clarity and structure she carries from her medical scientific background. She paints wide range of subjects with a focus on watercolor itself, as a full, expressive medium. Her preferred way of working is directly from life, engaging with the world in a rich, multimodal way that only on-location or painting from life can offer. She also works from her own reference photos and videos, transforming real experiences into paintings that balance spontaneity, clarity, and emotional presence.
