About me
I have been a professional artist since 2005. Playing with the contrast between light and shadow is the common theme in my paintings, no matter the subject. I am a realist painter and have focused on vibrant tropical florals and still life. A California native, I was able to fulfill my dream of living in Maui for twelve years. It is hard to express the sense of artistic inspiration and growth I experienced by living there. In 2022 I moved back to California to be closer to family once again.
I began teaching watercolor classes and workshops in 2006 and participated in fine art festivals from 2006 through 2016. I continue to enjoy sharing my knowledge of watercolor painting with others in my in-person and online classes.
I am a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, Watercolor West, and the Northwest Watercolor Society. I served on the board of the National Watercolor Society as Awards Director in 2022 and 2023. I am honored to have worked with an amazing Board of Directors to promote water-media arts around the globe.
My paintings are included in eight issues of “Splash” by Northlight Books. I have been featured in Watercolor Artist Magazine in 2010, 2014, and 2021. My painting graced the cover of the Summer 2021 issue. I was invited to join the faculty of “Watercolor Live” in 2022 presented by Streamline Publishing.
I have been represented by the Village Galleries Maui since 2010, where I’ve had numerous solo and group shows. Unfortunately, the gallery was destroyed in the August 2023 Lahaina Firestorm, and I lost all of my available paintings. My goal now is to rebuild my painting career after the loss of my work and my treasured gallery community in Maui.
I hope to be included in FabrianoaInAcquarello!
