I am a self-taught professional watercolor artist from the North of Germany. My paintings are now in private and public collections all over the world, which makes me very happy.
I was born close to the sea and miss it every day - so I love to paint seas, oceans and northern landscapes in a mostly semi-abstract and often expressive way. But my paintings are also intuitive and emotional paintings and express inner emotional states, thoughts and experiences. A storm painting is always a reference to inner storms and turmoil, peaceful and light paintings represent hope, love and peace for us all.
Recently I have started to paint the landscapes around me where there are also trees and woods with a preference for those cold winter colors. Rarely I also paint people or flowers...
Very often I work for special exhibitions with a certain topic and do also collage, installations and other media for that purpose.
As a watercolor artist I love to experiment widely with inks, mixed media, gouache, all that is water soluble and comes my way. I love the watermarks, the happy accidents, the flow and the letting go, the different layers, that lead to a meaningful painting.
I want to explore watercolors into all their depths and possibilities and don´t like any boundaries. Also, I love abstract and modern watercolors and would love to see more of that developing in my country.
Happy Painting to you all!!!
