About me
Lieu Dang is a self-taught artist originally from Vietnam and currently living life as a nomadic artist. She has been living in Thailand for more than 5 years.
Lieu has chosen the name "Vacabalo" as her artist name. It is a fusion of "Vaca" and "balo." "Vaca" refers to vacation, and "balo" (or ba lô) is the Vietnamese term for a backpack. This name encapsulates her love for travel and her fascination with diverse cultures from around the world.
Her artistic journey began at the age of 4 when she drew a simple straight coconut tree. Since then, she has consistently pursued learning and honing her skills. The more she delves into the world of art, the stronger her passion grows.
Lieu has experienced different mediums and found watercolor so charming to her. She loves painting different topics but portraits and landscapes are her favorites.
Her artwork has been selected for the "Colours of Cultures" art exhibition organised by VietnamInAcquarello. The event will take place in Hanoi in March 2024.
