Winston Hassall

Winston Hassall is a Malta-based artist who has been practicing the art of painting for around 50 years. His work is inspired by his own surroundings, and his main line of inspiration is the lush and mystical Maltese scenery. The execution and works done by Hassall are ones which are carried out using watercolours as a base, however at times he also experiments with a choice of other mediums and styles.

Through his experimental and differential pieces, you can find a choice of classical paintings alongside ones that echo a quasi-impressionistic abstract beauty — one which radiates from the island’s rural areas.
