Youth, joy, optimism, and determination are the pigments that paint her life. Born in the city of Chihuahua in the year 1990, she grew up in a family that allowed her to give free rein to her fantasies. In 2015, she was selected for an internship in China at the company IMG3 as a watercolorist in landscape design. Her interest became even more focused on research through watercolor when she decided to pursue a master's degree in arts. Her watercolors are the result of travel experiences, study, and teaching others.
She has participated in more than 30 international exhibitions in countries such as Spain, Turkey, Pakistan, among others. Pando can tell a silent story in her childhood figures, capturing us with threatening looks and unveiling a microscopic biological loom elsewhere. She inherits the metaphor of surrealism and the redundancy of pop art without underestimating the viewer. Faced with the Cartesian maxim, Jacques Lacan replied, "I think where I am not, and I am where I do not think." Thus, Cecilia Pando's work swings between the technical knowledge of the traveled path and the genuine expressive impulse that abhors all artifice. There is an intimate space and a code; her marks mobilize a feminine desire. There is a thread in the play of temperatures, in the fades and melancholic veils of her watercolor, but there is also a psychological game; what seemed like an invitation is a mystery, a conspiracy, a silence resembling a labyrinth of mirrors where at any moment we will be forever confronted with our own reflection.
