About me
Janez Slabe is a creator in the field of fine arts, music and poetry. He has a Master of Fine Arts.
He began his artistic journey as a child by watching his uncle who painted plein air. As an adult he joined a group of amateur watercolorists in his home town Vrhnika, but also learned drawing and painting from various academic painters such as prof. M. Sc. Mladen Jernejec, dean of College of Visual Arts and Tone Racki, art mentor at the Public Fund for Cultural Activities and others.
He completed his higher education studies in painting under the mentorship of Dr. Kiki Klimt, MFA, a painter, graphic designer and illustrator.
On the other hand as a student of logotherapy he cooperated with a psychiatrist and logotherapist, dr. Cvijeta Pahljina. On her initiative he conducted art workshops at summer camps in the Zicka Kartuzia and International Logotherapy Symposia in Slovenia.
He exhibits as part of the Logatec Society of Painters and works in a group of watercolorists under the mentorship of Petar Lazarevic. He had also five solo exhibitions and over 30 group exhibitions. He was selected several times in International Watercolor Festival Castra, which takes place in Slovenia.
