Artist Statement:
Most often my works and processes are an attempt at venting out, decoding, and calming the chaos that goes on in my weirdly busy brain – a catharsis. It is personal, hence autobiographical, and includes myths and tales that I hear, people and places that I know of, thoughts that cross my mind, and interesting anecdotes that linger as I read-watch something interesting and stirs my core.
Nocturnes, landscapes, portraits, architecture, birds, and animals have all conquered my imagination and mind at some point. My major works have been “mindscapes” as I am drawn to the limitless mind in general and the feminine in particular. Nature is important in my work, humanity cannot exist in isolation. I aim to bring to consideration that essential element and the beauty that surrounds us, which we miss to pause and observe since we are used to taking it for granted.
