About me
Valerio Raimondi began painting in watercolor in 2019 as a self-taught artist, fascinated by the possibilities of this technique. Over the years he has focused on stylistic refinement and has trained himself by experimenting with its rendering on various formats and various subjects: from portraits to landscapes, from still life to botanical and animal subjects, rejecting any specialization. His main interest consists in a realistic rendering of the subject transfigured by the use of bright and intense colors, and by the vital friction generated by the use of wet on wet for the backgrounds with the sharpness of the subjects in the foreground. His pole star in the art of watercolor is Steve Hanks.
He is a scholar of the Toltec tradition and of Advaita Vedanta.
