Carlos Miguel Mendoza is a self-taught visual artist born in Venezuela and based in Argentina, specializing in realistic watercolor and mixed media. His work is characterized by a constant search for balance between technical precision, contemporary sensibility, and a profoundly human perspective on everyday life.
With a solid self-taught background and sustained practice over the years, Mendoza has developed a visual language where watercolor is the primary medium, used with a controlled, structured, and deliberate approach. He often integrates colored pencils, ink, and other graphic resources as part of a hybrid process that expands the expressive possibilities of the support without diminishing the prominence of water and pigment.
His work encompasses portraits, contemporary still lifes, and botanical pieces, with a particular focus on the study of tonal value, light, and materials. In his compositions, figurative elements coexist with a personal interpretation that prioritizes atmosphere, intention, and restrained gesture, moving away from sensationalism and empty virtuosity.
In addition to her artistic work, Mendoza is actively involved in publishing and education through his Arte 360 project, which promotes self-directed learning, creative habits, and dialogue between traditional techniques and technological innovation. He sees art as a tool for personal and cultural transformation and understands watercolor as a contemporary language, capable of engaging with the present without abandoning its traditions.
He currently works from his studio in Argentina, developing watercolor and mixed media series, and actively participating in international platforms dedicated to the dissemination and preservation of watercolor art.
