Ekaterina Lych was born in 1978 in Saint Petersburg. Since 2016. she lives and works in Montenegro. She graduated from Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, Faculty of Fine Arts St. Petersburg, Russia, department of design, decorative and applied arts. She previously graduated from the GHSH City Art School, the oldest watercolor school in St. Petersburg.
After graduating, she worked as a designer at the "Djetinjstvo" Foundation, where she participated in the creation of an interactive museum for children in the Nevsky District of St. Petersburg. At the same time, she was engaged in design, creating book illustrations for children and adults, as well as original wall painting. She participated in twenty group exhibitions, international festivals and biennials, where she won prizes:
2013 - With the watercolor piece "Dance, Before the Storm" she won first place in the "watercolor avant-garde" category at the "Art Week in Italy" exhibition in 2013. The exhibition was held in Venice at the PALAZZO PRIULI BON gallery from July 25 to August 1, 2013. year as part of the unofficial program of the 55th Venice Art Biennale, La Biennale di Venezia.
2013 - With the watercolor piece "Dance, Before the Storm" she won first place in the nomination "watercolor vanguard" at the International Exhibition of Contemporary Art SPb Art Week" St. Petersburg Art Week".
After moving to Montenegro, she fully dedicated herself to creation, where she had her first independent exhibition of pastel works, called: "Montenegro on black", in the City Gallery of Kotor and J.U. Tivat Museum and Galleries, as well as the "Nikola Äurković" Cultural Center in Kotor, and continued participation in collective exhibitions and international biennials:
