Amna Kiran

My name is Amna Kiran, I am living in Republic of Ireland for last 23 years, originally I am from Lahore Pakistan, I did my Master Degree in Related Arts from College of Home Economics, Punjab University, I worked in a leading Embroidered firm “ Bareeze” in Pakistan. Since I moved to Ireland I did a diploma and various online surface pattern design courses and painting full time along with being a full time mother.My expertise lies in Painting (oils, watercolours, acrylics, pastels, charcoal and pen & Ink), drawing, sketching, weaving, embroidery, pottery, calligraphy, block printing, illustration, Photoshop PS, Illustrator AI and Textile Designer. I did collective and solo Painting exhibitions with local artists groups and I also write Poetry. The colours are also a very important part of my paintings due to my rich cultural background, As an artist from Pakistan who migrated to Ireland, a sense of (un)belonging is threaded throughout my pieces, whether it's my prints, paintings or quick sketches.

My artwork is mostly conceptual, figurative and architectural in nature. I like to paint what I feel and want to express, influenced by the circumstance surrounding me.My artwork also amalgamated with local styles of painting and yet I maintain my individual style of expression. Because of my craving to learn new things, and ability to assimilate new concepts, my style continues to evolve in new dimensions. My ambition is to create art, which is respected and recognised as an inspiring work.
